Dunnottar castle, Scotland.
3

I'm feeling a bit like a bus now, no posts for ages and then three in a week (maybe only fellow Brits will get that )

Whilst up in Scotland recently I got the chance to visit Dunnottar castle near Stonehaven on the east coast. Actually wanted some grey misty wet weather for some atmosphere but got bright and sunny with high light cloud which to be fair was a nice pleasant day.

Lots of history here with the current buildings dating to about the 15th century, William Wallace defeated an English garrison here in 1297 and is said to have imprisoned 4000 defeated English troops in the church at Dunnottar before setting fire to it. Dunnottar itself is mentioned as far back as 600 years before this.

I think it's a great setting and hope you like also.
