Avoid buying A7 series before gen 3 (only exception is A7RII), they are pretty meh...

X-T2 is a much better camera, you can also use Fringer Adaptor for old Canon lenses.

Thanks for the tip. Devil’s advocate: The prices of bodies are falling rather sharply, though, so I might just buy into the Sony system and wait till the “non-meh” bodies get into a suitable price range... And I’ll have some lenses handy when that time comes.

Ok then. You seem to be a good gatherer of information and have obviously spent some time reading, watching and listening to what ever it is you can get your hands on. Get the X-T2 and 18-55 which has 3 stops of OIS (look the lens up and find one used for around $300 US. Then, use the crap out of your gear and go make some imagery. If, after tons of use, you then want to jump to a newer used FF body and lens system, you only have to sell your used T2 and used 18-55 lens.

Just pull the trigger and start using the gear. Your best ‘use case’ is actually using it. This will help you learn and learn some more.
Good luck! And one last thing, you are asking these questions in a Fuji gear forum.
