To begin with, there's no doubting how nice the NX30 is (was). I still have mine and I love the color tonality, touch screen and general operation. But to be honest here, the one area where the NX sensors falter - and that's in the area of DR. The NX30 had horrible dynamic range, IMO - and there were just times when I couldn't do much with the RAW files (and I shoot RAW all of the time. But the NX30 is a keeper until it dies for the aforementioned reasons.

One of the other systems that I shoot with are a variety of Fuji X and Bayer sensor model cameras. And what a delight they are and each has one common denominator - that being that they all have exceptional DR capabilities in those RAW files. And for a RAW shooter like myself, I'm often tempted just to shoot JPG's because they are that lovely (rich and colorful).

I also shoot with the Canon EOS M system, along with various Micro 4/3 cameras, but in the end, the Fuji (IMO) wins hands down for areas like:

1. Exceptionally dynamic range in the RAW files.

2. Nice, rich color tonality - both from the X-Trans or Bayer files.

3. Fuji is quite religious with Firmware Updates - even for some older cameras 5 years out of circulation.

4. Fuji is doing quite well financially and they have a long range game plan for their APS-C cameras (and their Medium Format models).

5. The ergonomics of their cameras with all of their dials become really nice to use.

So, IMO, I'd say look at Fuji big time.

Hello everybody.

I would like to call Nikon Z50 to this arena...

The recent launch of Nikon Z50 move things a little.

It's a nice looking camera, with some good reviews and no much expensive. Cost around the same that X-T30 both with kit lenses (I know Fuji kit lens is better).

And it's a Nikon, That have to be good, right?

With the FTZ adaptor I could use some cheap Nikkor lenses like 50 f1.8, 50-200, etc. in the future, I could buy a native Z lens (FX), and perhaps, buy a Z6 and already have a small but useful lenses set.

Sadly, it doesn't have IBIS, so Z50 is in the same basket that Fuji's X-T30 and others.

What could you, the camera experts, can tell me about this camera as an option to replace the NX30? what about colors, user handling and other things?

btw, my X-T30 don't arrive yet.

Thanks for reading.
