M6II on Street & Landscape

Lenses used:

EFM: 32mm and 15-45mm

EF-mount: Tamron 35-150mm 2.8-4.0

Easy to focus on anything. Blazing fast on static objects. Very reliable on moving objects. The new sensor clearly sings with the Digic 8. Even on gray surfaces with hardly any contrast, this camera just keeps focusing. There had been only 2-3 times when it did not focus, and I traced them to my usage error.

Delicious colors for landscapes. It makes the most of bright lenses such as the EFM32mm and the Tamron 35-150mm 2.8-4.0. For me this means easy post-processing, with colors and tones very similar to that of my EOS RP.

Battery life is better than I expected. Even when I would be shooting long exposures heavily, the battery surprisingly lasted longer than how it was with my M5 in the past. I don’t know why. A factor can be I was shooting in less humid and less warm location, perhaps.

New things I discovered: There is virtually no lag between the display and the actual scene. The display is also visible even under bright sunlight. The pop-up display is also easier to lift yet feels more firm / less likely to get broken. And as I posted separately a few days ago, it worked very well under the light to moderate rain, where I shot at one point for roughly half an hour. I wiped the camera dry, then resumed shooting the next day without any issue.

Anything I don’t like about the camera so far? Well yes, I really think it’s time to improve the native lenses being offered. I used a relatively big Tamron lens and on a tripod, it felt very front heavy thus harder to operate. I once used my EF70-200mm f/4L on my M5 and it felt the same way. Canon, more lenses for the M series, now!
