ISO question

Hello,

Quick question!

I always try to have the lowest ISO possible for obvious reasons.

I've been watching a few videos of different wedding photographers and their settings are sometimes a little confusing.

example- shooting outside ISO 300 shutter 1/1000 aperture 1.8

Why would someone have the iso at 300 if the shutter is at 1/1000? why not lower the iso which would mean lowering the shutter speed to obtain the same results which would result in a cleaner image?

is there any advantage to having a higher iso? or are they just being lazy? assuming they dont need the extra shutter speed because of fast movement.

any insight would be helpful!

Thanks,

Jeff
