Is the Sigma 16mm that good or too wide for gen use?

I've been eyeing off the Sigma 16mm f1.4, to pair with my A6400, for a while. The Black Friday sales in Aus now have the 16mm at A$530. I already have the 16-50mm kit, the Sony 18-135mm and the Sigma 30mm f1.4. For family photography (3 kids) I mostly use my A6400 out and about and my Pixel 4 for indoor photography using night sight when required.

As the A6400 doesn't have IBIS, I've also been considering a compact gimbal like the Zhiyun Crane M2 for general home videography. The Crane M2 is also on special at A$300. If I get the Sigma 16mm, however, the Crane M2 won't be strong enough for the lens so I'd have to get a more powerful gimbal.

Ok, the question. Option 1 or 2?

  • Option 1 - Get the Sigma 16mm (A$530) + Weebill S Gimbal (A$600)
  • Option 2 - Just get the Crane M2 (A$300) to complement my Sigma 30 and the Sony 16-50mm

Is the Sigma 16mm that good to spend an extra A$830 including the better gimbal?

Sorry the long post and thanks to responders in advance.
