Sony a6100 Sensor and AF Tracking

I read this on another forum:

"Armed with the same 24-megapixel APS-C sensor and advanced Real-Time autofocus capabilities as the $1,400 Sony A6600, it seems like an obvious choice. While the A6100 does make some trade-offs to hit that lower price, most beginner to advanced amateur photographers will be just fine with them."

If the a6100 has the same sensor as the a6600 and Real-Time autofocus one could extrapolate that the a6600 will not give better IQ and focusing than the a6100.  Armed with Sony OSS lens it has excellent stabilization.  Therefore, IBIS is not required.  I am trying to wrap my arms around spending the extra money if the sensor/AF is the same.  The rest of the cost is simply whistles and bells.

Your thoughts are appreciated as I may be misunderstanding.
