...and that vulnerability is only remotely possible when using the PTP when transferring images over USB or wi-fi.  Article here explains it a little.  Note that this was only discovered by researchers on one model (80D) and over wi-fi.  It was never an actual ransomware in the wild.  It would have to originate by utilizing public wi-fi, or a public terminal over a USB cord (the latter of which would be pretty dumb to do anyway).
