Zoom on X-Pro?

How crazy would it be to put the 16-80 on the X-Pro 3? Both of these recent releases intrigue me as a possible ILC alternative to m43.

I'm a happy X100F shooter, but I do need an ILC kit on some occasions. My main gripe with my Panasonic GX9 is that it's not weather-sealed - I'm going to the Caribbean for the holidays and I'm really wondering how that will work out, with constant humidity, saltwater, sand (not that I'll throw it in the sand or ocean, but still)... (Think I'll keep the X100F safer.)

I prize compactness, and RF style. The X-Pro 3 really captivates my imagination, but I wouldn't get it just to use primes. That would be redundant for me. I know that's how it's intended, and that the OVF might not even function well beyond, say, the 35mm range.

Nonetheless, from my handling of the 18-55 F2.8-4, I quite like that general purpose lens. But I've never seen it fitted to an X-Pro body. Only on X-T bodies. Beyond blasphemy against intended design, is there a reason why not?

I anticipate people will recommend just going with the X-T3, but that camera doesn't quite do it for me. My alternative would be to stay with m43 and even "downgrade" to the GX8 (for WR), and combine it with the great Panasonic Leica 12-60. But the Fuji glass (and overall experience) really entices me, since I enjoy the X100F (gateway camera!) so much.

The 16-80 seems possibly too large for my tastes, but for the extra angles wide and tele, I might deal with that, for travel purposes. Right now I'm switching lenses on my GX9 (m43 12-32 and 35-100, which are 24-64 and 70-200). I don't love switching lenses though, and would be happier with a general 24-100 or so. 27-80 could also be ok..

Well, I guess I've put a lot out there to chew over. Thoughts?
