Looking back at (almost) five years with the X100T
28

When I read about the X100 series in 2013-2014, it was love at first sight; too bad my wallet didn't agree to my heart. Until late 2014 it was all a dream; then, almost five years ago, on a trip to the USA, I thought "screw it", went ahead and got my silver X100T.

One of the things that kept me from choosing the X100 series sooner was - besides the price - the fixed lens (since this was to be my first camera).

I cannot stress enough how this helped me evolve as a photographer through the years: it made me think more about the shots, approach the subjects, rethink what I knew about photography... I don't think I'd be more glad with my pictures if I had started "the other way" (I have a X-T20 which I barely use, but that's another story).

The model I purchased on December 2014 has been with me everywhere ever since: across the street or across the world, fighting heavy rain and snow, heat and sand, birthdays and rock shows, cities and country.

This means it's been a wild ride, and the fact that the camera isn't weather sealed means that nature (and excessive use) took its toll on it. Doesn't mean I've stopped using it, though; I am going to continue to do so until it dies!

Long story short, I made this post to show what a reliable camera the X100T can be, and to recommend it to anyone (especially those beginning to photograph) willing to take the jump to the X100 series.

Below, some of my photographs through the years. I don't know why, but DPReview posted them on reverse-chronological order (so the first ones are the most recent):
