m6II or eos R ( or RP, fuji, sony)
Nov 21, 2019
I'm getting crazy reading forums for a month so I thought better ask some help.
My dream camera would be a c100 I which could take full frame/or great stills ( and a bit better lowlight, not crazy better).
I am a onemanband documentarist and I am also willing to take some portraits while living/working in the border between brazil and Venezuela. I need a hybrid camera. I need the best IQ on HD for doc style and a camera I can trust for stills portrait ( not fast, but good). I have a gx85 with 20mm1.7 and usually rent c100's or a7III but now I will need to own a camera and while the gx85 is great for video I want a better stills camera system.
first I thought about the x-t3 or a7III and then the eos-r seemed the obvious choice.
But my money would me allow only the eos r + the 35mm 1.8. I've done docs solely with the 28mm 2.8 IS and c100 and I loved it, but for stills I would like a wide-angle for enviroment portraits. this led me to the fuji and its amazing 16mm 1.4, but it's 900$... Than m6ii caught my eyes. Paired with the sigma 16mm 1.4 22f2 and the 35 1.4 I'd have a hell of a combo. I have tried eos r 1080p and it looked good both ipb and all-i also nice to have 4k despite the rs, for future projects. But overall I feel like the camera has a lot of faults and thought about waiting for next model.
BOTTOMLINE:
For stills, is the m6ii + 32 1.4 on par with eos R + 35mm 1.8 or the cheapo 50mm 1.8 ?
or is it even comparable to the RP? Is the
For video, I liked what I saw from the m6ii in 4k, but I would love having good hd for shooting a lot and still having good quality ( like I do on the c100). So, is it really far from the eos R, or fujis on hd? ( I know it is less detailed, but motion, color - workarounds the absence of c-log cinestyle, clog3 etc) makes it worthy saving 1k to spend on glass?
And then there is RP. on paper seems better for stills but its hd samples I saw look horrible. 4k looks ok. can anyone who have tried this cams give me some insight?
p.s I should add that I may combine a borowed c100 on some ocasions but I'm still open to fuji or sony which I find simple to match.
