A7iii Photography : AF problem in dark environnement (event/reception)

I have a A7iii with a 28-75 Tamron and a 70-200 GM both F/2.8

How do you focus on action in a dark room when trying to capture people dancing in an event or a wedding? It always takes the camera a second or 2 to focus as it hunts a lot, but by then, the moment has passed. I have been missing a lot of shots since I switch to Sony.

I don't really want to use the on-camera AF Assist since it is very invasive and the videographers that I work with hate it. But even when I do, it takes a little moment focus anyway. Without the AF Assist grid from the flash (like on the DSLR) shooting in the dark is so hard with Sony... How do you guys do it?

I don't use Live View Display so that the Aperture opens wide up in order to focus
