Yes - Fuji adds new film sim modes with each new generation sensor. They also add new controls to those film simulation modes. They tend to launch with new cameras and then work their way into the rest of the lineup.

The monochrome "Acros" was added with the 26 megapixel sensor. The "Eterna" film simulation was launched with X-T3, and now they're launching "Classic Negative."

This isn’t quite right - both Acros and Eterna were actually added with the previous generation 24mp sensor. Acros launched with that sensor on the X-Pro2 (the first 24mp model) and Eterna launched on the XH1, the last 24mp model.

Unusually Eterna was never backported to any of the older models of the same generation. This broke with the precedent set by Classic Chrome, the first new film sim Fuji added to new cameras, which was delivered by firmware update to all the X-Trans II cameras.

The XT3 didn’t launch with any new film sims, although it did gain the ability to add tonal adjustments to monochrome. The X-Pro3 is getting Classic Neg and that will be the first new film sim for the 26mp sensor - but at the moment it again doesn’t look as if that will be coming to the XT3 or XT30.
