Good light meter for OLD studio strobes

Hello,

I've recently become interested in getting my studio back up and running. I have Novatron Strobes that are about 24 years old. I've been able to sync them with my Canon DSL. My issue is that the lights seem much brighter for digital - I could easily be wrong about that. The technical side has always been much more of a struggle for me and I'm WAY out of practice with studio work.

I will admit I have yet to spend a ton of time on this, but figured this was a great place to ask those who may have attempted the same thing. Is there a light meter you would recommend, the one I have is SO old (LOL) and understandibly no longer working, and I figure was designed for film anyway. It would need to be an incedent meter.

Any words of advice are always appreciated.

Thank you,

Wendy
