Charging the EOS 70D when travelling

I'm pretty sure that I cannot charge my 70D via the mini-USB port on the body as that appears to be for data transfer only.

I currently have the mains charger, figure-of-eight mains lead and one battery. The battery appears to be in good health (all greens on the battery status screen).

I'm looking for advice on travelling abroad with the 70D for a week and not running out of power. I could buy a spare battery and will probably get away with two batteries for the week. However, it's a risk.

What do people do for power when travelling? Is it simplest just to pack the charger and get a very short (1-metre) figure-of-eight mains lead?
