"dual exposure control" on ILC cameras?

Hi,

I'm looking at the google pixel 4 review and it seems to implement "dual exposure control", which is basically quick adjustment of shadows and highlights before capture.

It's a feature I wanted on my cameras for years and yet It's only available on a smartphone. That's a shame really, because it would be very easy to implement in interchangeable lens cameras. Before you tell me that I can adjust them in jpeg settings.. The key here is "quick". If it requires menu diving, it becomes too cumbersome. I wonder if we're going to see this on more cameras, especially that it is very easy to implement and doesn't require any "computational" techniques with the dynamic range available on modern large sensors. Thoughts?
