SX70 HS - Pigmy Cormorant

Pygmy Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus) is the smallest of the three cormorant species breeding in European area. It breeds intermittently in the southern and south-eastern parts which accounts for more than three thirds of its global breeding range. This bird occurs mainly in coastal marshes, along rivers and on inland lakes.

Below you can see a specimen photographed at Cona nature reserve in Italy.
