"fake" 1/8000 and 1/32000??

Hi,

I have an issue with my canon 6D, because it only goes up to 1/4000, I can't shoot @ f1.4 or f1.2 in bright light.

I was out testing the XT2 in bright light @f1.4 because I thought these high speeds would be great. Problem is that  at 1/8000, minimum iso is 100, in the canon I had 1/4000 with iso 50, so that's the same...

Electronic shutter!!!! 1/32000 great!!!! Or is it??

Well, turning the ES on, iso bumps up to 200 minimum..., So it's the same as 1/8000 @ iso 50.

I thought I would get a big improvement, but I only get 1 stop extra with the ES, bit disappointed.

Anyway, is there any drawback in using ES in bright light? To shoot at f1.4 iso 200?

Not possible to come down to iso 100 with ES, right?

Thanks

Canon EOS 6D
