Which software?

Currently using a 2014 MacBook air, with Photos and iMovie. I love both apps – easy to use, and do exactly what I need.

The little MBA is running out of power though, and I don't want to spend $4k on a Pro or iMac. I do already have a reasonably specced PC (i5 7600, GTX1080, 16Gb), but am struggling to find software that is as user friendly as Photos and iMovie. I have tried hackintoshing, but the never ending tinkering bothers me and I don't see it as a long term solution.

Any ideas as to what software I should try? Features I like are:

Photos
-Easily imports from iphone
-Doesn't allow duplicates, recognises what I've already imported and allows me to delete them off the phone once imported
-Basic editing is sufficient for my needs (healing brush, adjust shadows/highlights etc)

iMovie
-Easy to use, drag and drop clips, shorten etc
-Works directly with Photos library, so no duplication of files

TIA
