a6400: Couple of Strange Issues

Hi Folks,

I got to use my new a6400 every day for a full week while on vacation in Sedona.  A couple of issues (well not sure if they are really issues, or a setting, or if that is how the camera is supposed to operate).

1) I have camera set to AF-S, center focus area, and multi metering mode.  On occasion when I look through the viewfinder, I am seeing a white rectangle pointing to a specific object in the view.  I thought that this should not appear when the camera is set to center focus area; am I wrong?

2) Sometimes when I look through the viewfinder, the camera suddenly enters some type of very magnified digital zoom; I believe that half-pressing the shutter (or turning camera off and then back on) gets rid of this.  Is this normal behavior?

Thanks
