Astrophotography using Foveon with a Multiple Narrowband Filter
2

Hi,

I've been toying with the idea to marry a Foveon sensor with a Multiple Narrowband filter for astrophotography. It seems like a Foveon sensor would be able to do what Bayer can't: separate the Ha band from the Sii band (on Bayer they are both R) and separate the Oiii band from the Hb band.

The filter looks like this:

There is a thread on the APP forum diving deeper into that: https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/community/main-forum/quad-band-filter-prosessing-and-more/

Now here is the question that people on this forum may know the answer to:

Do the X3F files contain the information (light color / frequency) that would allow for separating the Ha "red" from the Sii "red"? On Bayer the two are indistinguishable...

Any ideas?
