Got the Sigma 56--few quick impressions
18

My Sigma 56 F1.4 arrived yesterday evening, and I was able to grab a few quick shots to start getting a feel for it. First, here's how it looks on the M6II:

Without hood

With included hood.

And here's how it compares in size with the 32 F1.4 and the adapted 50STM:

Almost exactly the same height as the 32, and a bit shorter than the adapted 50

Slightly wider than the 32, and narrower than the 50

It fits in very nicely with Canon's EF-M lenses. Not exactly the same design, but close enough that it looks right on the M bodies, and looks better than adapted lenses, even of roughly the same size.

A couple of quick grab shots, using my favorite and most long-suffering model. AF seems quick, accurate, and quiet. Eye AF works perfectly with this lens:

And a night-time shot:

Despite appearances, we don't live in Amsterdam. There are new city ordinances about light pollution requiring colored lights.

I'll obviously be doing a lot more testing when I have time. Work is especially busy, but I'll do what I can. My first impressions are very positive.

As the length of a thread approaches 150, the probability that someone will make the obvious "it's not the camera, it's the photographer" remark approaches 1.
