For the future after you post if you see a typo, you can edit it. But that has to be before someone replies to your post (like me or you). Just click on your post, see "More options" at the bottom and then click edit.

A five year old could use a DSLR camera. A lot of it depends on the child. Some youngsters are absolutely able to do use advanced devices. For others, it may be a struggle.

If it were me, I would have bought a less expensive used Canon DSLR like a Canon T2i (550D) or Canon T3i (600D) for them to use (with the two kit lenses). Both of them have dust sensor protection. The Canon T7 (2000D) does not. Another option would have been to buy the child a Canon SL1 (100D) DSLR camera. It's a little smaller and may fit better in their hands. The size of the camera could be an issue.

I have purchased used cameras on Ebay with good results. I won't pay a lot for them and I check to see what rating they have, whether they are an excellent seller or not.
