Where are you from? It seems PD sells their products through in many countries that have Amazon, so that may be an option to try with low risk.

I'm from Sweden. We don't have a Swedish Amazon page, but as long as I order from within the EU, Germany for example (who is the nearest country with Amazon) I'm not worried about risk really. Many times it is also cheaper to go this route which annoys me a litte (damn those high Swedish taxes & VAT).

The PD and the Lowepro is avaliable in Swedish stores for: PD 20L 2290 sek (213 Euro or $237), PD 30L 2590 sek (241 Euro or $268) and the Protactic for 2685 sek (250 Euro or $279). I haven't looked at international prices yet, but I will before I decide.

EDIT:

In the post you answered to I forgot to add the PD in the list of bags available in Sweden

Good to hear you can try in person. They are not perfect, nothing is, but I do recommend based on my needs.

As noted on the "resurrected" PD vs Privke thread, some have had concerns about the dividers and straps. I find the dividers fine, but the straps are not as wide or padded as some; I find it fine for a full 20L (and one of the reasons I bought the smaller one), but I can see where a full 30L might make the straps dig in... trying in person is always best to me.

All the best with your decision; drop us a note back here when you do and share your results!
