If you have the software and dongle for use with an Apple computer you might want to consider learning how to dual boot/hackintosh if you do not have a suitable Apple machine. Most likely the Kodak software is limited to an older version of OSX.

Another approach which may or may not work would be to run the needed version of OSX in a virtual machine under Windows. It is easy to install OSX in the free version of Virtual Box if you follow the instructions available on several web sites. If the scanner worked under those conditions you would have to find a way to export the scans (e.g. save to an external drive).

Unless you need to scan stacks of images it might be easier just to get a Windows compatible flatbed scanner--that would cost a lot less than $300.
