There have been numerous threads on this subject , I have mentioned the Epson F-3200 dedicated film scanner many times , but few seem to take notice , continuing to use the same flatbed scanners - I don't know why .

I think it's because people already HAVE flatbed scanners or they think dedicated film scanners = big bucks. I had the same reaction when I suggested scanning with a macro lens and scanning set.

I googled 'Epson F-3200' and came up with nothing. Nowhere to buy them, not even a good page on them. Is it really old? Does it have software that is still supported?

Yes it's about 10 years old now , and was something like £500 , but they still pop up on the used market fairly regularly . Sure , a lot of people do already have flatbed scanners , I do too , but so many of these threads are people coming on here asking what they should get to scan negs or slides .... and people tell them to buy flatbed scanners , which to my mind isn't the best advice .

Here's a review

Epson still support it on their website and the software is downloadable , I have the CD that came with it , and it works with current Photoshop CC .

Vue Scan also supports it

There's one on eBay right now

They do pop up quite regularly

I won't part with mine .
