What to do about HUGE .tif files

Recently been using photoshop to do some touchup on my photos and quickly found myself with 3TB of extra files.

I shoot with A7R III so the RAW files are already big but these .tif files are 5x-10x larger.

Workflow looks like this: raw edits on LR -> edit in PS -> save -> export from LR.

The saved .tif file is usually anywhere from 500mb - 1.5gb. Why are they so large? Anyway to get them smaller?

What are your solutions other than deleting them or buying more drives? I would prefer not to delete them as I would lose the edits and I may need to export to different sizes / settings.

Thanks.
