Nikon AF-S 28-70 2.8D IF ED won't focus on D750

Hello everybody.

I bought a new D750 two days ago. After trying all my lenses on the new body, I realized that they worked flawlessly, except the AF-S 28-70 2.8D.

Because the lens works fine on my Nikon D3, I was wondering, if there is any kind of compatibility issue, or an issue with my newly bought D750.

When I mount the lens on the D750, I hear a noise, similar to a loose electric connection. I don't hear it on the D3. The aperture control works, manual focussing is possible, but the AF isn't working at all.

The other testet lenses are:

  • Nikon AF-S 80-200 2.8D
  • Nikon AF-S 18-35G
  • Nikon AF-S 105G VR
  • Tamron 100-400 VC

They all work well.

Is anyone using the AF-S 28-70 2.8D on a D750? What do you think could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.
