I have a 45-150mm f/4-5.6 zoom that came originally with my GX7. On the barrel it is designated as 'HD'. Back in the day, DPReview carried a news item announcing that various lenses had been upgraded to HD status. This was one of them.

When I look at this lens as currently offered new (e.g. at B&H), there is no HD marking.

What does HD mean? Does it make any difference? Is the fact that it seems to have disappeared of any significance?

As I recall, this was just a marketing fad that arose with HD TV. Manufacturers tripped all over themselves to stick the HD designation on everything. It was doubly silly for cameras because HD resolution is 720p or 1080p, and they exceeded that in what, 2001? The lens was never really a limiting factor, but none had HD video until much later.
