Indoor flare/reflection test of three Pentax 50mm lenses

Just noticed this while taking pictures so thought of comparing all three lenses. See pictures below. It seems Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 handles flare/reflection better than Pentax 50mm f/1.4 and the newer (Ricoh built) DA 50mm f/1.8 . I can understand the 50mm f/1.4 as its probably the oldest among the three, but how come the DA 50mm f/1.8 performs worse with newer coatings? Any explanation?

All photos are cropped, but un-processed jpegs from RAW files.

SMC Pentax 50mm f/1.4

SMC DA 50mm f/1.8

SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7. Just showed for example, but there's nothing (flare/reflection) in the whole image.., not nearly as strong as other lenses.
