Is the 32 mp Canon chip really better than the Fuji 24 mp chip?

Using the Dpreview setup, I compared three cameras. The new 32 mp using the Canon chip, and the Sony and Fuji 24 mp chips. I believe all these chips are made by Sony, with the possible exception of the new 32 mp Canon chip. Try it. https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-90d-review/5

The Canon chip displayed a slightly larger image but I see no increase in detail. Is this a market ploy to promote 32 mp chips? Is the fuji lens used simply sharper? (I believe it is the 90). Or, will the new 32 mp chip and 90mm lens produce sharper images. Give it a little research. I suspect Fuji will soon use this chip?

So, do I need larger files to get the same sharpness? Your thoughts.
