Nikon 35mm F1.8G slow and chirpy focus, sometimes refuse to focus

4 years old 35mm F1.8g lens mounted on D7000 is giving focus issue. Last month, it refused to focus. I tried a several times to correct mount with click sound and now it somehow started focusing. But it too slow and chips while focusing. 20% of time refused to focus then I had to use manual ring to focus.

Camera works fine with Nikkor 85mm and Tamron 70-300 VC. Both are much heavier to operate than 35mm , particularly Tamron. So fault in D7000 body is not faulty for sure.

Also there is small fungus or crack kind of thing visible when I look into lens from back side. It is not visible from front side.

Is my lens aged now? or is there a way to fix these things.
