I don't mean to be nitpicking. But the Samyang 8mm lens is a fullframe fisheye with 180 degrees field of view corner to corner, diagonally. The horizontal field of view is around 150 degrees, depending on the projection. But around thereabouts.

As the milky way spans about 30 degrees, that means that the milky way should take up around 1/5 of the horizontal field of view in the picture, i.e., not a lot. So I think what has been photographed is more than just the milky way.

But anyway, quite interesting pictures for sure!

Astrophotography was one of the key uses for fisheye lenses in the first place, due to the projection, which made it easier to calculate distances in degrees.

Eh - we live inside the Milky Way galaxy. It spans 360 degrees horizontal, and a lot more than 30 vertical.
