For what it is worth, my Brother 2375DW and my HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color work as usual on Catalina

Then you' re lucky. On Canon' s website it says..." not supported with Catalina" (MG8250 printer)

It's possible that the printer and scanner drivers in Mac OS X would be able to make a bit of use of the MG8250. However, I wouldn't want to count on them working and being as functional as the Canon ones.

There's also the likelihood that some of the scanner support applications are 32-bit. I've got a different Canon all-in-one, and I think I spotted some 32-bit apps on my system.

It pays to be cautious when there's a system change like this. What's the saying? "Early worm gets the bird"?

I think you’re right, Tom. Scanning wasn’t possible anymore when I changed to Mojave. I’m afraid nothing will work anymore when going Catalina. I think I’ll have to buy myself a new printer. Was thinking about buying a more pro photo printer (Canon 1000? 10?), but if that will not be supported anymore in a couple of years....then it’s probably not worth it. Bad luck.

Same here. I have a Canon MX927 with support up to Mojave. I might have to buy a new printer. The MX927 is being used with Windows 7 currently.

Canon has released 10.15 drivers for Catalina now.

Never buy version 1.0 of anything.
