New computer. Setting up backup idea.

I am trying to get organized. Been using a laptop/tablet for photo editing, but have a desktop and 27 inch monitor I'll probably pick up tonight.

The desktop has only one 1 7200 rpm hard drive, but it has space for SSD additions. Commonly, in my reading, it seems like using a SSD while editing and then store on a hard drive is the practice.

However, having an BU that is separate is also recommended.

So, Im thinking, instead of spending money on a SSD to put in the computer, maybe get a docking station and use it to back up a SSD and use my 7200 RPM HD for editing. For now that still only gives me one backup, but I can easily get other SSDs and back up and put them aside.

I am not very computer savvy and am bouncing around ideas.
