Why no fixed lens 50mm?

Why are all fixed lens cameras 35mm (or another somewhat wide angle perspective)?

I love the 50mm perspective, and I have read many times that, if you can only have one focal length, you should have the 50mm.

A compact, very wide aperature, 50mm (FF equivalent), awesome glass, rangefinder style, fast focus, probably MTF 16MP BSI sensor, and large pop-up flash camera (hot shoe in place of flash is cool too) would be awesome. Maybe shave physical depth of the unit and implement a 45mm lens, no wider. Give it a generous grip that doesn’t require an add-on, and doesn’t actually increase pocketing size because the lens is still longer. $800... maybe $1k if the glass is fantastic.

I’m sure some will find my last paragraph impossibly stupid - I don’t care. I would really like a 50mm fixed lens unit.
