Re: Get a budget 35mm or save up for a killer one?

I have the Nikon 35 1.8 G and the Sigma 35 1.4 Art.

The Nikkor is a pretty good lens, acceptably sharp even wide open. I found focus to be pretty consistent. The only problem it has, it produces a horrible amount of chromatic aberration. A lot.

The Sigma is a tad sharper in the center, losing some sharpness in the corners. Overall I prefer the rendering of the Sigma, but its AF can be temperamental from time to time, missing focus where you would never expect it to.

I still own both, can't decide which one to sell. The Sigma is the *better* lens but the Nikon is more dependable.  I'll probably end up keeping both, or selling both in favor of the Sigma 40 1.4. But that's another story...
