Re: I said a mix- it's not "extremely subjective."

Some aspects are personal preference. Some are demonstrably at odd (otherwise the whole genre of human computer interface design would be useless). Multiple people and multiple reviews have noted how the Olympus UI has gotten more complex.
So it's a combination of both.
I would not even mention that on any forum so absolutely subjective a statement like that is....
That's your opinion, as you said we are different
In addition the UI had NOTHING related to the OP? So why mention it?
This may come as a surprise to you, but normally people in conversation they may mention related things, like in this case the UI is getting in the way. Ben's questions are valid. Also I don't need your permission to say whatever the hell I believe in on this so..
I have been using Olympus from the first E1. Personally I think Olympus showed great UI progress from then to now.
I think their UI has more clear and simpler back then. I also date back to Olympus to then. I used the E-1, though owned the E-300 as my first DSLR from them. They basically had the same UI.
Can they improve? Absolutely. See, looking at life through the right glasses makes a huge difference... To use the Pen UI as a general negative input..... is way below the belt..... touching on propaganda, don't you think?
Nah, that's just your interpretation. I said positive things, I said the things I thought it could improve. Basically being realistic. To equate it to propaganda is ridiculous, but then to the rose colored optimistic the realist sounds like a pessimist, and to the pessimist the realist sounds like an optimist.
Now would you approve of this?
As you know I am currently trying the Sony A7. Now if you want to experience an outdated and unfriendly UI go see that of Sony.... Many reviewers, influencers & photographers agree....
I am talking about the PenF and Olympus UI, I don't see why the need to bring a FF camera to this thread, nor do I need to approve anything you are saying. Different brands and models sure move differently on the scale of UI usability. If you want a good reference on m43rds, check out the Panasonic UI on the GX9.
"This may come as a surprise to you, but normally people in conversation they may mention related things, like in this case the UI is getting in the way." Wise person said this...
Enjoy the PenF if you like its ergonomics and speed. It has some of the very best JPEGS and good RAW files I have seen in all m43rds.
Oh wow, look, some positive things I said about the PenF. Must be shocking
