I've done very little birding with it but its excellent for using as a long range close up system on the EM-1 mk2 v3.5 for my bees and butterflies, feeding and in flight

(its also pretty effective for shooting air shows and wind / kite surfing action, so much so I have disposed of my PL100-400 as I much prefer the handling of the zoom on the 40-150 pro, it was even worth losing the extra 100mm for that)

Lots of examples on my flikr site

I think I agree about the improvements in sharpness comparative to the MC-14 too, although that is subjective as I haven't specifically tested it in systematic way

an update on my use of the mc-20, I have finally decided that its not for me, everything I wrote earlier still applies but I seem to have found a weakness for my sort of use when shooting wind and kite surfing.

Our local beaches are south facing so a lot of the time I have to shoot contre-jour and I have been finding that when the sun is bright I am seeing some odd optical effects which look like internal reflection / refraction affecting image quality and colour.

I'm trading it in for the Panasonic 100-300mk2, accepting a hit on sharpness and resolution but hoping to lose the degradation.

I am of course keeping the 40-150 pro + mc-14, with which I have never seen this effect

(only time will tell if this is a good decision )

So much to learn, so little time left to do it!
