Your statement is not necessarily correct: This depends very much on the lens-mount. E.g. Leica R or Pentacon 6 will not require an adapter with glass on a Pentax 35mm or APSC cam.

This being said, for the sole purpose of adapting a wide variety of mounts, a K-mount-cam is probably not the ideal platform. For M42&PK, it is an ideal platform.
