Canon Pre-Order shipping

I've had a B&H beat published ship date, once with my G1X Mark III believe if memory serves me. Was a solid week-ish. Maybe 5-days.
I did get an announcement from Canon direct my order is shipping in the next 48-72 hours, yesterday so presumably it'll either ship day of, or day before since it's 1-day shipping thus meeting launch date for arrival.
I also got the same email from Canon direct but it could be just automatically generated as it says estimated ship date is not a guarantee. I very much hope to receive it by Friday. This is my first experience pre-ordering directly from Canon so I don’t know if they ever ship ahead of release day.

They don't. You'll either get it day of launch, or day after (1-day shipping).
Longest I ever had was 5-days, and that was due to it getting ground-pound shipping because EPP didn't always have the 1-day perk, that was reserved for full-paying customers. This round I get both the EPP discount, and 1-day shipping. Yay!

Yesterday evening I received the boilerplate email I usually get from the Canon Hong Kong store when my order is ready for pick-up. Hasn't failed yet.
So, I will find out today, I guess.
EDIT: 12:00pm local: Just been told over the phone that I can only pick up the M6ii order tomorrow. So, it seems Canon are keeping strictly to the 26/9 date, at least where I am!

Yes I am getting the same message under order status as of now.
Just called Canon Direct to follow up on my order, I was told that it will definitely be shipped tomorrow l, the release day. They have enough stock already to fulfill my preorder but won’t ship until tomorrow.

They just announced M6II will be sold in Vietnam for 1050$US, so absurd...
I also have Canon Direct status changed to backordered. I called them and now they can’t even tell me when the order would be shipped. Very disappointing experience with Canon direct pre-order. Adorama is in the same boat. Finally ordered from Kenmore Camera - says in stock but we’ll see if it actually ships today. M6ii appears to be in much higher demand than 90d. Bestbuy starts to show sold out now.

If anything, this is encouraging news for Canon to show the demand is still strong for the M.
On another note, my order is now expected on Saturday from CPW. Kinda bummed as the weather was going to be decent Friday evening but raining Saturday. Oh well, maybe I’ll test out the lack of weather sealing?

For those who want m6ii from an Authorized Canon dealer asap, Kenmore Camera has the stock! I placed an order this morning and confirmed over the phone that it is in stock and will be shipped today.

Pumpkin Patches, Apple Hill and the wonderful weather do not wait for Canon to meet (very strong) demand... Paid the piper here as the M6 Mark II is in high demand for my needs in the short term and I've found although the IQ of the M6 (original) has been good during my use of it this past month (like the M5 and M50 before it), the AF for tracking does not meet my needs like the M50 did which the M6 Mark II should match and surpass.
I noted, the 90D is still in stock everywhere by contrast. Telling of the change in times in my mind.
