90D mixed feeling, anyone else?

Hi guys,

Got my 90D last week that I bought specifically for wildlife, and BIF. I was going to buy a 7D when the 90D was announced and given that I don't need dual cards or ultra customizable menus I decided to go for the newer model. I have an 80D that I was very happy with, except for any fast moving subjects as I found anything over iso 1600 on the 80D too noisy.

I like everything about the 90D. The feel, the joystick, the quicker AF system, quicker frame rate etc... BUT I find it extremely noisy, may be even worse than the 80D. Am I the only one?

Still subjects are fine but anything moving, so far I got really bad results. Tried with my Tamron 150-600 and tonight put on my Tamron 70-200 2.8 with 1.4x extender. Obviously not as much reach but I got closer to my subjects...

Here are a few samples

90D f5  1/1250 iso2000 Tamron 70-200 2.8 +1.4x

90D f5.6 1/2000 iso2500

90D iso6400  f6.3 1/600 Tamron 150-600 g2

90D iso5000  f1.8 1/640 Canon 50mm 1.8

The cat (say hello to Kasper 🙂) is the first shot I took with the 90D, indoor with an el cheapo 50mm 1.8 lens. I was really happy with the iso5000 performance there but I didnt get the same quality with BIF. I am hoping it is my technique because I love everything else about this camera!
