My guess is that Canon wants the current M5 Crowd to choose RP.

… and lose out on the 32 f1.4 and 22 f2

Thing is, RP isn’t even a upgrade to lowly M50 and where is the UWA in the R system?

not sure why you say that

for low light it is - 1-1.5 stops better which is huge

I'll take the new 85 f1.2R on the RP any day over what the M50 can do

I'll take the new 15 -35 F2.8 R over what the M50 can do

glass and FF rules for image quality

Except for 2 things:

1) M50 is better at ISO 100-400 due to better dynamic range

DR will come into play in less than 5% of shots

whereas, FF sharpness and low light noise play in a huge % of shots

2) RF 15-35 isn’t available and could in fact be as real as for instance XF 33/1.0.

coming soon

The problem with the R system is that it makes Apple and Fuji products look like absolute bargains in comparision.

the R with R lenses is expensive

the RP isn’t an IQ upgrade over my $895 6d

fuji for APSc is expensive

i looked today at the iso 100 samples between the 6d and the m6ii and I could definitely see more resolution in the m6ii.

With a few more f1.4 sharp native lenses the m will be something

Thankfully, a well-known Sigma trio is coming, in addition to newly an announced Viltrox trio.

Need to see canons commitment to m
