In the video they said that tracking when shooting through OVF is not good for 10 FPS. By tracking, do they mean they let camera automatically switch AF points to track the subject over frame? From my understanding Canon DSLRs are not good at it. These DSLRs are deigned to select an AF point or group of AF points and then moving/ panning the camera to keep those AF points over the moving subject. If this camera can not do that reliably at 10 FPS, that is a failure, but not if it can't switch the AF points automatically to track the subject.

Yes, it’s the standard DPR AF test of ”how well a camera locks onto a subject moving erratically around the viewfinder” which is something Canon AF algorithms don’t seem to be designed for the way the admittedly awesome Nikon 3D tracking is. But most of the time you’d be tracking the subject yourself anyway, so the DPR test measures only one aspect of AF performance. That said, DPAF has always been much better at locking onto subjects and following them around, something that is understandably important in video work. The latest DPAF generation appears to be extremely good at tracking also when shooting stills in Live View.
