Canon needs to step up with some more primes for the m - or I'll join the chorus - the m mount will be dead
This is the double edged sword; the M is great for what it is. And, Canon is their own worst enemy. They will in all likelihood, not produce the measure of lens lineup as say Fuji. But, Sigma will For most people that'll do the job.
well, I had the original d30 for $2000. I got a sigma 70-200 f2.8 that performed great on the d30 but was hosed on the 10d
I bought a tokina 10-17 that performs great on my 7d2 but is hosed on my T7i
I test my lenses when I receive them
The issue I always worry about is the monkey wrench thrown in on 3rd party with the next iteration of camera body
Actually this is not a third party lenses problem, but a Canon camera problem. The longer i think of it, the more i am getting convinced i have to jump ship because of this most important reason. As long as your lenses are EF-s mount you can adapt, but as soon as you have them in M-mount there is a risk it will be unusable with future bodies.
I anticipate the other mfg's will start throwing in monkey wrenches on third party lenses
Canon has been the worst imo, but not to say others will do it more in the future to protect their own glass
sony wants to sell their FF but their aps-c is getting very good so how do they prevent cannibalization going forward?
a switch could cost users dearly
I'm hooked on canon colors, canon dpp, last version of LR standalone, canon 35 f2 IS, canon 100L, Canon FF 6d for $899. It will be hard for me to get away from these value propositions
That is true.
EOS R = 2150 euro. I have both the canon 35 f2 IS, canon 100L.....
A6600 + Sigma MC-11 + sigma 56mm f/1.4 = 2299 euro
A6400 + Sigma MC-11 + sigma 56mm f/1.4 = 1749 euro
However, for full frame i don't have the f/2.8 zooms. The biggest advantage of full frame to me is the IQ with f/2.8 zooms. Unfortunately, although i can afford a full frame camera to use it with primes, i can't afford the zooms next to it, while the sigma MC-11 allows me to use the sigma f/1.8 aps-c zooms on A6x00....
