The first image looks slightly out-of-focus. When the lens does not have an accurate infinity mark or has no marks at all, I've had some luck by shining a light on one of the trees in the frame and using that small amount of light to focus correctly (at least for UWA lenses you don't need something too far away to give you inifinity focus).

The second image is showing some star trailing which is due to the movement of the earth during the 30s that the shutter is open. If you deem the star trailing to be too much you need to reduce the exposure time and compensate with ISO. For a 16mm lens you would probably want to keep your exposure to ~20 seconds.
