Best type of lens - Marching Band Photos

One thing I didn't see in the responses was the light banding or light flickering that happens under artificial lighting.

I just learned about it and all this time - last 3 years, I thought it was my settings that I wasn't quite understanding.

I have been surprised that there really aren't any videos about this specifically for still photos on youtube, but then remembered this site to get info...which is probably better than youtube to begin with.

I have a 35mm 1.8 (52.5mm cropped), 16-50mm 2.8 (24-75mm cropped), 70-200mm 2.8 (105-300mm cropped), and a 70-300mm 4.5/5.6 (105-450mm cropped) I use with a Sony A77 MKII.

From the sidelines, which lens would you use from the sidelines?

Here are my band galleries:

thanks,

Mark
