How about the almost completed Tamron "light" Trinity?
2

Is anyone else excited about the upcoming 70-180mm Tamron lens, which would complete the "light" trinity that Tamron is building?

That would mean 3 f/2.8 zooms that weigh a fraction of the traditional old trinity. Perfect for mirrorless, or is the compromise too great?

Tradtionally, you have the 16-35, 24-70, and 70-200mm f/2.8 zooms.

Tamron has:

17-28mm f/2.8

28-75 f/2.8

70-180 f/2.8 (coming soon)

You sacrifice 1mm at the wide end, and 20mm at the telephoto end, with the middle zoom not actually sacrificing mm but moving a little more telephoto. Will anyone miss the slightly expanded range or is the lightness (not to mention much lower price) enough to say that we can deal with it?
