Leice D-Lux 7 and Lumix DC-LX100 ii - are they effectively the same camera?

I was just looking at the Leica D-Lux 7 and the Panasonice DC-LX100 ii cameras on the B7H site.

They both have the same specs: 17MP, 24-77 mm f/1.7 to 2.8 Leica lens; and they use the same batteries, and appear the same from the photos - same controls, layout, etc.

So, I'm wondering if these are effectively the same camera, that will pretty much give me the same performance and results, have the same control/menu layouts, and will feel the same when I'm using them? And is the price difference worth it.

(Note: Lumix is about $300US less, but Leica comes with 2-year warranty, and Lumix only 1.)

I understand Panasonic owns Leica now so this seems to me to be a reasonable assumption.

Also I own the earlier Leica D-Lux type 109, and it seems the only real difference between what I have and this newer version is that mine has 12MP and the new one has 17MP.

Any thoughts? Thanks, David.
