3rd Party Batteries - BLH-1

I have used 3rd party batteries for all my Cameras since 2004. Pentax, Nikon and Olympus. Never ever had an issue. I know some people will never use them and that's fine but its up to the individual as to whether they use them or not.

I recently decided to try a new one after reading about it on DPreview somewhere. It is a Patona Premium Series . The only reason I was interested is that they claim they are compatible with the Olympus BLH-1 batteries. They are less than half the price of the Olympus ones.

Mine arrived a few days ago and I can confirm that they seem to be fully compatible. You do not get the warning message about Olympus batteries recommended and they do show the % of battery left. Also the battery status shows correctly.

They claim you can charge them with the Olympus charger - Not tried that yet .

I can not say anything about their longevity ( how many photos you can take with them ) yet either. But it seems fine.

So anyone interested , I got mine from Amazon .

You may find them elsewhere. make sure it is the premium ones.
